Made up of one large bed and with no trenches, filter media tile beds are extremely efficient at cleaning greywater. The bed uses sand for filtration with a specific grain size in order to ensure optimum percolation while treating effluent.

- Unable to process heavy flows as effectively as conventional tile beds
- In-ground or raised depending on the project
- Usually the filter sand needs to be processed to meet the specific grain size required (may increase the cost of the sand)
